Default roles & Permissions

What is Role?

A role is a relationship between a certain user and your organization. Users can be teachers, students, editors (in the platform), etc.

What are permissions?

A permission is an action that a certain role have is authorized to perform. For instance, a user with a teacher role is authorized to create tests.  On the other hand, a user with a student role cannot create tests but can take a test created by a teacher.

Are there any default Roles?

Yes. There are default basic roles ready to use, like teachers, editors, and students.

Can I create new Roles? How many?

Yes. You can use the default roles or you can create one that suit you needs. Feel free to add as many roles as you need!

How can I see all the roles belonging to my organization?
  1. Access to My Account by clicking on Tools > My Account.
  2. On the left menu, click on Roles.

App Role Permission
All Administrator All permissions contained in the rest of the roles.
Learning

Locker

Student Student can launch test and view notifications.
My

Account

Change users’ organizations Member can access users accounts and change their organizations.
Authoring Tool Content creator Content creators can:

  • Create, read, edit, and delete questions (soft delete and permanently).
  • Recover questions, create simulation questions, edit the status of the questions.
  • Create, read, edit, publish, import, export as well as delete (soft delete and permanently) and recover tests.
  • Add files to Media Library, as well as view, edit and (permanently) delete files from Media Library, and recover them afterwards.
  • Create, view, edit, and (permanently) delete categories and recover them afterwards. They also can edit and recover workflows.
Content Administrator Can create articles, as well as create, edit, and disable products.
Editor An editor can:

  • Create, read, edit, and delete questions (soft delete and permanently), then they can recover them afterwards. They can also create simulation questions,
  • Edit the status of questions, and assign workflow to questions.
  • Create, read, edit, recover and import/export tests.
  • Add and view Media Library files. They can also edit and delete them (soft delete or permanently) and recover them.
  • Read, delete, and recover categories.
Technical reviewer Can read, edit, and delete questions (not permanently), and read test.
Manage Editor A Manage Editor can:

  • Create, read, edit, and delete questions (soft delete, and permanently). They can also recover questions tha thave previously deleted- They can also create simulation questions and edit their status.
  • Create, read, edit, publish, import, export as well as delete (soft delete and permanently) and recover tests.
  • Add and view Media Library files, as well as edit and delete them (soft delete or permanently)- They can also recover files that have been deleted.
  • Read, edit, delete ( permanently), and recover categories.
  • Edit and recover workflows.
Partner Portal Marketing administrator Can access Reports section and export billing, orders, and usage reports.
Distributor A distributor can:

  • Access Reports section, export billing, orders, and usage reports.
  • Create keys.
  • Impersonate a partner.
  • Create, edit, and approve a sale.
  • Manage users.
  • Create organizations.
Key creator A key creator can:

  • Access  the Reports section. They can also export orders and usage reports.
  • Create and edit users.
  • Generate keys.
  • Create articles.
Report administrator Can access Reports section. Then they can export billing, orders and usage reports.
Sales administrator Sales administrators can:

  • Access Reports sections. Once they are there they can also export billing and orders reports.
  • Create keys
  • Impersonate partners.
  • Create and edit sales.
  • Manage users.
Sales representative Can access Reports section and export billing and orders reports. They can also create keys, impersonate partners as well as create and edit sale.
Support Can access Reports sections, and extract billing, orders, and usage reports. They can also create keys, impersonate partners, and create articles.
Teacher A teacher can:

  • Launch tests.
  • View notifications.
  • Generate keys.
  • Create and edit users.
  • Access  the Reports section. They can also generate usage reports.
View only account Can access Reports section and generate order and usage reports, They can create articles.
