Accessibility

To adapt the Pedagoo’s Learning Locker to the needs of the blind or visually impaired, a series of accessibility improvements have been carried out.

  • Phase 1. We have analized all accessibility issues, and we have classified them into 4 categories:
    • Critical.
    • High.
    • Medium.
    • Low.
  • Phase 2. We have fixed all the issues classified as Critical or High.

Note. In the near future, we will performance a phase 3 to fix all issues classified as Medium or Low.

Below you can see accessibility issues fixed:

Improvement
Critical Checkbox is accessible via keyboard using SPACE or ENTER key.
The screen reader announces name, role and state for the checkboxes and if the checkbox is checked or not on the Show me questions I missed from last.
Close(X)’ control present on the error message which appears after activating ‘Continue’ control with leaving mandatory edit field blank is accessible via keyboard.
EXPLANATION tab is accessible using keyboard while navigating using tab key.
Hight All check box are associated with it’s label in the ADVANCED OPTION page.
The back button is announced.
Error message which appears after activating ‘Continue’ control with leaving mandatory edit field blank is descriptive. Now, It defines error type, error suggestion or error causing field name.
In addition, the error message appears adjacent to the fields having error, so that it could be more efficient for the users having cognitive disabilities and should appear continuously on the screen.
Name and role is defined for Close(X) control present on the error message which appears after activating CONTINUE control with leaving mandatory edit field blank and Screen Reader announces it as: CLOSE button.

Landmark is defined on the ‘Please select test mode’ page.
On pressing “D/Q”, NVDA/JAWS focus is move to different landmarks on the page.
Screen reader announces role for ‘Next’ Control which is present on ‘Test Information’ page.

At 200% Zoom, ‘What is Amazon Elastic Container Services?’ link doesn’t get cropped.
After resizing the page at 400%, page content doesn’t get cropped.
After resizing the page at 400%, ‘What is Amazon Elastic Container Services?’ link doesn’t get disappear.
Screen reader announces state as checked/not checked for review icon present at the footer.
Screen reader announces: mark for review marked/unmarked
Next’ control is accessible using ‘Enter’ key.
Screen reader announces proper information with the updated values continuously as they appear on the screen for the time. Example: 10 minutes 30 seconds
Keyboard focus indicator is visible properly on ‘Checkbox’ after selecting the checkbox.
After resizing the page at 400%, ‘Next’ button doesn’t get Truncated.
After resizing the page at 400%, page content doesn’t get Overlapped.
In browse/VPC mode Screen readers doesn’t announce incorrect information as ‘Menu’ on “Exhibit” graphic.
Screen readers (NVDA/JAWS) announces row 6 Control column 1 graphic Exhibit.
In High contrast Black/White modes, Status of progress bar is distinguished properly.
Color isn’t the only way to provide the information for the colored icons.
Screen reader announces correct name for BACK button.
Luminosity contrast ratio for the ’86:16′ text is greater than or equals to contrast ratio 4.5:1.
Screen Reader announces status message which appears after activating ‘Send’ button present on the ‘Send Feedback’ dialog.
NVDA/JAWS announces it as: ‘Your Feedback was sent
